Sweetbird Speculoos syrup is great with coffee; speculoos biscuits are ubiquitous, and we’ve turned this particular flavour into a syrup. The traditional Dutch Speculaas biscuits inspired this recipe. The spiced shortcrust biscuits are thin, highly crispy, caramelised, and slightly browned, and are traditionally cooked on St. Nicholas Day or Christmas in Germany and Austria. Some have an imprinted image on the front. Our variation on the biscuits in syrup, made in Bristol, includes delightfully caramelised biscuit flavours and authentic cinnamon spice. This syrup is delicious in hot chocolate, a Cinnamon Roll latte, or the ultimate Lime Cheesecake frappé.
